Abstract

The present paper vividly elucidates the concept of Informed Consent in Medical Law. The paper begins with an introduction about what is informed consent and then the paper unravels about the different laws on informed consent in India and the jurisprudence of informed consent in medical law is discussed through various case laws in India. Then the paper shows a cross country analysis on the concept of informed consent in medical laws in India, UK, US and China. Furthermore, the concept of the informed consent is a crucial instrument which determines the fundamental rights of a human being. The paper is concluded with a concluding note which highlights the importance of informed consent in the life of medical professionals and patients.
