Educational Qualification and Quality of Life Among Transgenders in Imphal, Manipur

Abstract

This present research aims to investigates how educational qualification is associated with the quality of life among the transgender community in Imphal, Manipur. The sample comprised 30 transgenders (15 transmen and 15 transwomen) were collected from Imphal, Manipur through snowball sampling method. The study implemented a survey research design. Data were collected by conducting in- depth interviews and by administering the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL)-BREF and socio demographic sheet. Data were analyzed statistically using frequency, percentage and chi square test. Findings indicates that 10% participants lie within the age range of 20-29 years, 15% within 30-39 years, and 5% within 40 & above age range respectively. It was also found that there is no association between educational qualification and quality of life of transgenders of Imphal, Manipur.
