Abstract

The current Article focuses on the various aspects relating to Data Protection Laws with special reference to Indian and European laws and it’s contemporary development. The Article focuses on the various aspects relating to Data Privacy and starts with the very definition of what includes and is “Privacy”, followed by the concept of “Right to be forgotten” in Indian as well as global Scenario with the help of relevant case laws. The article then illustrates the concept of Data protection and includes Data protection laws in EU encompassing various provisions of GDPR and the Indian context of Data Protection laws. The Article also includes the draft personal data protection bill of 2019 and the legislative history regarding the same. The Article ends with the newly issued Data protection bill of 2022 and the various advantages and shortcomings regarding the same too.
