Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore the factors that affect women empowerment and the challenges faced by women in India. The research examines the current status of women's empowerment in the country and highlights the key factors that contribute to their existing situation. The selected factors for this study include social status, health, access to education opportunities, decision-making power, social freedom, and various forms of intelligence. This research also traces the historical background of the women's empowerment movement in India, which gained momentum during the colonial era. The findings of this study reveal that women in India face significant barriers and discrimination, preventing them from engaging in certain activities and enjoying equal status compared to men. The study also sheds light on the efforts made by the Indian government to empower women through various national and global schemes and initiatives. Furthermore, this research attempts to forecast the prospects for women in various domains and assesses the effectiveness of initiatives undertaken by the Union of India. By analyzing the current situation and exploring the factors that influence women's empowerment, this study aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on gender equality and inspire further action towards women's empowerment in India.
