Abstract
Homosexuality is not crime in Hindu culture, yet it is considered unethical or anti- religious by conservatives. The term LGBTQ community is not considered compatible with societal norms. But human right activists always fought for this community which is necessary step for preventing discrimination against them. Sexual orientation and gender identity based discrimination has resulted into changes in existing laws for recognition of rights of this community. For example - Decriminalization of section 377 of IPC in India .
