Green tourism, as it is basically defined as an environmentally friendly tourism concept with a variety of focuses, focus areas and meanings. In a broader term, Green tourism encompasses a plethora of activities which is many ways is a responsible tourism vocation or concept with the basic idea of providing eco- friendly services. The prime motto of this type of tourism is to conserve and preserve nature and its environment in the most accountable manner, with utmost dedication, commitment, sincerity and application. The present study takes the area of Mayang (or Mayong) is a village located in the Morigaon district of Assam, on the bank of the mighty Brahmaputra river and very close to the Kopili tributary, is 40 Kilometres ( 25 Miles ) away from Guwahati along the Homen Borgohain Road . Another key prospect of this area, is the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, which has got the highest concentration of the one horned rhinoceros (Scientific name; - Rhinoceros Unicornis) in the global context, located in the area. The Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary with a total area of only 38.6 Sq. kilometres, serves to be a miniature version of the Kaziranga National Park.
