Abstract
This article critically examines the legal framework and land administration system of Bangladesh from the perspective of citizens’ rights, focusing on access, ownership, and tenure security. It identifies major challenges such as bureaucratic inefficiency, corruption, outdated land records, and barriers to dispute resolution. Using both doctrinal and empirical methods, including survey data, the study highlights the gap between legal provisions and practical implementation. The paper proposes reforms including digitization, transparency, and enhanced public awareness to strengthen land governance in Bangladesh.
