Abstract

Despite being a long-standing problem in Indian society, marital rape has not been quickly recognized by the law or made a crime. This in-depth essay explores the present legal context, significant rulings, cultural perceptions, and continuing discussions around marital rape in India. It aims to clarify the particulars underlying this type of violence against women and the difficulties in enacting significant legislative reforms through a thorough investigation.
