Social entrepreneurship has become an important force behind economic growth and social transformation, especially in underdeveloped nations where conventional methods might not be effective. This study examines how local communities in the Kamrup district of Assam have played a crucial role in the development of social entrepreneurship. This study mainly aims to understand how local communities contribute to the success of social enterprises by combining a thorough literature review and investigating the examples of the specific contributions made by the local communities to the development and prosperity of social enterprises in that area. The study emphasizes the vital role that local communities play in supplying labour, expertise, and social capital resources that are critical to the viability and expansion of social enterprises. This research study indicates that community involvement plays a crucial role in ensuring that social enterprises are culturally appropriate and in line with local requirements, hence increasing their credibility and influence. The paper also highlights important obstacles that social entrepreneurs must overcome, such as resource limitations, trust issues, and cultural hurdles, which can hinder productive community engagement and co-operation. The study provides examples of effective ways used by social enterprises to involve local people through organic farming cooperatives, eco-friendly handicrafts, and healthcare access efforts. Developing capacity, establishing strategic alliances with regional groups, and employing participatory methods are some of these ways. The results highlight how crucial it is to promote cultural awareness, increase community involvement, and strengthen support networks in order to empower local communities and promote sustainable development. Social enterprises in Kamrup district can increase their resilience and effect by utilizing local networks, resources, and knowledge. This will ultimately help them to contribute to the larger objectives of social and economic development of the region. Policymakers, practitioners, and scholars who are interested in the dynamics of social entrepreneurship and community engagement will find this study to be insightful. It also offers actionable suggestions for improving the effectiveness and sustainability of social enterprises.
