Abstract
In this research paper, an attempt has been made to understand, study and analyze broadcasting and IP Laws. In particular, the subject of research has been broadcasting rights against signal piracy. In this paper, the scope of the study is not just limited to India but a broadened horizon is considered, by studying the important aspect of International Perspective and efforts. This research begins with the hypothesis, which works on the assumption that there exists a gap between IP laws and Broadcasting rights. And this stems from the problem that there exists a vacuum in the protection of broadcasting rights which gives rise to further challenges. In the course of research, the conclusion is drawn towards acceptance of the hypothesis undertaken. Due to the advancing technologies and a sense of lassitude in updating the relevant laws and treaties, this vacuum comes to exist.
