Abstract
The union of India is a cherished democracy and a state of pluralistic views. The soul of the nation speaks through the words of a constitution that seeks to establish it into an ideal benchmark for governance and reasonably restricted free speech. Through this paper, the researchers have tried to establish a balance between the need of the state to protect its interest and need of a citizen to express her views. It is difficult to gauge the stage at which oppression creeps into the mind of those in authority and even more difficult to ascertain the watershed moment when dissent loses its voice. Be it the liberals or the conservative’s government. The people shall forever stand to lose this battle of words and ideologies.
