This study aims to investigate impact of irretrievable breakdown of marriage in a society. A failed marriage leads to a divorce. The paper deals with critical study of the irretrievable breakdown of marriage in the religions. The focus of the paper is also on a comparative study of matrimony and divorce in Hindu and Muslim laws.
