Critical Theory evolves from Hegel's dialectics, searching for the consequences of modernity, and progresses through Marx and Lukács to the Frankfurt School. The paper briefly discusses the development of Socrates’ dialogue to Hegel’s dialectic method evolving through works of Marx culminating into the critical theory of Max Horkheimer and Theodor Adorno as a mechanism of critical thought and resolution to modernity.
